Louis returns to São Paulo Symphony twice this year

Louis returns to Sao Paulo Symphony in October 2024, performing Beethoven Concerto No. 1 with Gergely Madaras and in December with Thierry Fischer performing Beethoven Concerto No. 4 and the Choral Fantasy, as part of the season finale, Beethoven Fest.

Louis opens the seasons of several orchestras

Louis Schwizgebel opens the seasons of Orchestre National de Metz (David Reiland), Richmond Symphony Orchestra (Valentina Peleggi), Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (Kirill Karabits) performing Saint-Saens concerto n. 2, Florence Price concerto in one mouvement and Ravel concerto in g. He also returns to Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey with Lucerne Symphony orchestra and Michael Sanderling performing Beethoven emperor concerto.

Louis performs Florence Price’s recently discovered piece with Omaha Symphony Orchestra

Earlier this month, Louis joined the Omaha Symphony Orchestra for 2 concerts on Friday 17 January, and Saturday 18 January at the Holland Center, Omaha, Nebraska.


Under the baton of conductor Thomas Wilkins, the programme consisted of Louis performing Florence Price’s recently discovered Piano Concerto in One Movement, and his regularly performed piece Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue.

This recital was recorded live at the Victoria Concert Hall in 2019 and marked Louis Schwizgebel’s Singapore International Piano Festival debut. Relive it here until the end of June.

Louis performs Beethoven with Bern Symphony Orchestra

Louis returned to Switzerland to perform Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto with the Bern Symphony Orchestra on 27 February in Bern’s newly refurbished Casino. The concert was conducted by Domingo Hindoyan.


Please note: Due to restrictions brought into place because of COVID-19, the planned performance on 28 February was cancelled.

Debut with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra

Louis makes his debut with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, joining John Wilson as soloist in the Gershwin Piano Concerto.

Louis performs this work regularly, most recently with the Orchestre National de France and the Philharmonia Orchestra (also with Wilson) last year – after his performance in London, Classical Source described him as “hugely stylish”. Read the full review here.
